Protective but bulky. December 30, 2009 binkbink (Berkeley, CA United States) My first thought when researching covers is that the Macally case was leather and would offer more protection. It is indeed a hard leather and the iPhone would be fairly well protected if dropped on the cover. However, there is an opening at the bottom through which the iPhone is inserted and that opening has no cover. If your iPhone isn't inserted all the way in the case, then it is left a little exposed and vulnerable to damage at the bottom. I also found the case a bit bulky to access the various buttons on the iPhone. In the end, I purchased a different case which I prefer using.
My Favorite Case So Far!! December 16, 2009 A. Stagg (Virginia, USA) I've been using this case for about 3 months now. Looks great and works great. Fits perfectly and allows for easing docking of the iPhone, since the phone slides upward from the bottom of the case. The one downside is that the iPhone can sometimes slide slightly when plugging in the headphone jack, but not a big complaint. Overall I highly recommend!!
Fell apart in less than 24 hours December 3, 2009 Rocker Dad (Indiana) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This case has an opening on the bottom to insert the iPhone. The sides of the case have a seam where the front and back are glued together. This glued seam came apart when the iPhone was inserted. Don't waste your money on this item, it's a poorly constructed piece of junk. If you are going to spend all that money on an expensive iPhone, you want it protected by a case that isn't going to fall apart the first time you put the phone in it.
Best of 3 cases I have bought October 30, 2009 D. Byram (D/FW, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought several styles of cases before settling on this one. This has a built in screen protector and the buttons and connectors are easy to access. It is thin and well constructed. No problems operating touchscreen through protective cover. Only minor improvement I would like is more protection on the corners.
Good product for phone protection October 9, 2009 Stig (Chattanooga, TN) Good product for phone protection. The quality was surprisingly good. It fits the phone really well. I carry it in my pocket so it gets a little ware from that. The outer covering has held up well. The inside material has also held up well. If you are going to be taking the phone in and out of the holder often you will notice the buttons on the phone start to wear down the inside material. My wife paid $20 for a 'CaseMate' slide in holder and the faux leather outside covering has completely worn off on the edges. The edges on this item have shown no wear so far. I am going to order another one of these for my wife's phone. Compared to others I have seen you cannot beat this for the price.
